We only stayed one night here as part of our trip up the Mekong and was probably the best hotel of our entire trip (we stayed in 7 different hotels). It looks OK from the outside, but "WOW" was the only word we could use when we entered our room. It was just so unexpected. The beds were big and comfortable (we had a triple room and a double room), the bathroom roomy and super clean, and we had room to move, room for our luggage. The buffet breakfast was varied and great. Free internet too.
Would most definately stay there again, if we are ever in Can Tho again.
The Kim Tho Hotel was a big surprise. From the outside it looks like a small ordinary hotel but the rooms are great. We had a giant comfortable king sized bed, good places to put our luggage, free wifi, gigantic bathtub, conveniences in the room, and it was all very clean, new, well kept, and attractive. The breakfast was good too. The location was particularly good since it is right near the riverfront and there is a good walking path and a lively evening street scene. A shop around the corner sold bottled water and soft drinks and you could buy fruit as well. We thought the boat trip on the Mekong Delta with overnight at the Kim Tho was a highlight of our visit to Vietnam.
The only strange thing was the entry to the rooftop bar. You had to go outside the main building up a circular staircase with NO bars or barricades to a big outside drop. I was very surprised that the access was potentially dangerous and would be uncomfortable to anyone with a child or who is ungraceful.
We enjoyed our brief stay in Can Tho and would agree with most of the other reviews.The hotel is very clean and in a great location.Can‘t comment on the staircase to the rooftop bar as I couldn‘t find it. Did find a great restaurant,Sao Hom, next to the market
Despite them telling us by e-mail that they were full we decided just to turn up anyway as the other options in town looked either dingy or overpriced. We got a river view room for US$50, quite modern looking, clean with a decent bathroom. TV, tea & coffee facilities and an intriguing drawer in the desk labelled "birth control box". Not much English spoken at reception, but that was the norm in Vietnam. Roof top bar for an atmospheric Mekong Delta view and a small, pricey cocktail. This must be the best hotel option in town.
The Kimtho was clean, with spacious, modern rooms, a convenient location near the river and shops and restaurants, and a great breakfast - plenty of choices. I wasn‘t crazy about the shower - it was basically a Roman tub with a detachable shower head that was quite low, so you couldn‘t just stand under it, you had to either sit or hold it in your hands, and I lost control of it and ended up spraying down most of the bathroom. Of course, not everyone is as klutzy as me :)
We stayed here one night as part of our overnight Mekong Tour. It is a great choice. Clean and very comfortable. Good location. Great breakfast. We didn‘t have riverview room (which would have been lovely) but the room was so quiet and comfortable. There is a lovely view from the rooftop. We didn‘t make it up to the bar at night but went up early morning (about 6am) and just happened to catch the most beautiful sunrise over the Mekong. This was a magic moment. Can Tho is a much nicer town than I imagined. Would stay here again.
